Cheers to Change: Over £24,000 Raised at the Cambridge Beer Festival!

We’re still buzzing from the incredible generosity and community spirit at this year’s Cambridge Beer Festival, where over £24,000 was raised in support of The Red Hen Project!

As the official charity partner for the 2025 festival, we were honoured to be part of this iconic event on Jesus Green, surrounded by thousands of visitors, hundreds of real ales, and a whole lot of heart. From glass deposits to bucket collections and everything in between, every pint poured helped pour hope into the lives of local children and families.

For a small charity like ours, this kind of support is transformational. It means we can respond quickly when a child is going to bed hungry, when a parent is overwhelmed, or when a family is facing a crisis. It means we can stick around to offer long-term, hands-on support – through home visits, school partnerships, parenting courses, and more – helping children thrive in the face of real challenges.

We’re so grateful to CAMRA, the festival organisers, and to every single volunteer, donor, and festival-goer who made this possible. Special thanks to our amazing team of volunteers who gave their time, energy, and smiles to help us connect with the community and raise vital funds.

This year’s total puts us among the top fundraisers in the festival’s history – a testament to the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together for a cause.

If you’re feeling inspired to support our work, we’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s fundraising, volunteering, or spreading the word, there’s a place for you in the Red Hen community.
